History camp for 21st Century kids

Registration is open for Shacksboro Summer Days, the annual McHarrie's Legacy history camp for children 9 to 14 years old.

This year, students will have the opportunity to be a part of the local "Barge into Baldwinsville" celebration. They'll connect the centuries as they map, document and blog Lock 24's history. Other activities will include encounters with Baldwinsville's founding mothers and fathers, exploration of local landmarks and playing old-time games.

The day camp will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 6, 7 and 8 in the Museum at the Shacksboro Schoolhouse, 46 Canton St. in McHarrie Park. Register by June 30. For more information about the program and to register, call the museum at 638-2452.
