Armed Bicyclist Arrested by Syracuse Police

On June 3, at 8:35 p.m., members of the Syracuse Police Department Crime Reduction Team stopped a bicyclist on the 200 block of Shonnard Street after he violated multiple local laws.

The bicyclist was identified as 17 year old, Carlos Torres, of 203 Kellogg St. in Syracuse.

During his arrest, police located a loaded 38 caliber handgun in Torres' front pants packet.

Torres was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, loitering, imprudent use of a bicycle on a sidewalk and unregistered bicycle.

Torres was lodged in the Justice Center and arraigned in City Court this morning
