The Seniors of Skaneateles two day trip scheduled for Aug. 12 and 13 has been cancelled. Instead a one day trip is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 12. The bus will dapart Allyn Pavilion at 7 a.m. and Fingerlakes Mall (JCP side) at 7:30a.m.
About 10 a.m. the bus will stop to pick up your Step On Tour Guide. As you drive along quaint, rustic country roads, thru lush farmlands, you will be following the Country Barn Quilt Trail of Western NY, which has grown to include more than 40 barns and other buildings adorned with handpainted quilt squares throughout the farming communities of Orleans County near the Southern shores of Lake Ontario.
Lunch will be at Tillman's Historic Village Inn (hold the dessert). At 1:45p.m. you will arrive at Watt's Country Farm Market to enjoy a unique 1/2 hour train ride in the World's largest Orchard Train, "Watt's Orchard Express," this 90 foot train winds it's way through 100 acres surrounding a 3 acre pond. The train will stop in the Orchard where you'll hop off and pick a quart of fruit that is in season and it's yours to keep. You will have time to browse the Gift Shop, sample the homemade fudge (25 flavors), grab some ice cream (32 flavors) or visit the barn and feed the critters.
At about 3:45p.m. you will arrive at the Medina Railroad Museum, the largest freight depot museum and the last surviving wooden fright depot in the country. By 5:15p.m. you will be riding along an "American Scenic Highway" on your way home with an expected arrival in Auburn at 8 p.m. and in Skaneateles at approximately 8:30 p.m.
