Police search for answers to Candlewyck robberies

The Baldwinsville Police Department is investigating several reports of robbery in Candlewyck, where several homes and automobiles have recently been burglarized.

According to a certified letter sent to households in the neighborhood, the department has "a very good idea who may be responsible for these thefts."

Police Chief Michael Lefancheck reported Thursday that while no arrests have been made, active investigations are ongoing as police collect evidence to sustain a conviction.

The department has asked residents in the affected neighborhood to lock their cars and homes, and to report any suspicious behavior at once.

At the last Baldwinsville board meeting, the Chief of Police also requested that garage doors be kept shut, and reminded village residents that the department offers a free home-check program when occupants are away for business or vacation.

For non-emergencies, the Baldwinsville Police Department can be reached at 635-3131.
