Town of Salina moves forward with sewer improvements

A public hearing has been set for 6:36 p.m. July 12 for the adoption of the local law amending the Salina Town Code to eliminate the power of the commissioner of planning to appoint and remove employees of the department as is presently permitted in Section No. 43-5 of the code.

A public hearing has been scheduled for 6:39 p.m. July 12 to extend the moratorium for six months on wood boilers and outdoor furnaces.

The town also reviewed the highway superintendent's report on street paving needs during the June 28 meeting. Nicotra said the job will be contracted to an outside vendor, a group of projects that have already been figured into the 2010 town budget.

A public hearing to discuss the street paving projects will also be held July 12.
