No one could keep up with the Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field team as it roared to victory in last Saturday’s CNY Indoor Track Association meet at SUNY-Cortland’s Lusk Field House.
Dominating the afternoon session, the Bees finished with 106.5 points, well clear of runner-up Cicero-North Syracuse, who had 69.5 points. Liverpool was third with 50 points.
Brian Kane won twice in field events. He again prevailed in the high jump, clearing 6 feet 4 inches, which beat the field by half a foot. Then, in the triple jump, Kane flew 38 feet 6 inches, nearly a foot ahead of Liverpool’s Justin McGriff.
Nate McCabe gave B’ville a victory in the mile, as his time of 4:33.79 crushed the field, more than 13 seconds ahead of CNS’s Chris Buchanan (4:47.20). Adam Pacheck, in the 3,200-meter run, won in 9:48.50, the only one in the field to break the 10-minute mark.
Meanwhile, Charles Parker took the 600-meter run in 1:32.68, more than a second clear of the Northstars’ Alex Bottorff. Rudy Sapp earned the victory in the 55-meter dash, as his time of 6.70 seconds beat, among others, Todd Mitchell (6.93 seconds) in third place.
Mitchell ran to second in the 300-meter dash in 38.88 seconds as Sapp (39.35 seconds) finished fourth. Andrew Hoover took second in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.26 seconds.

In the girls afternoon session at SUNY-Cortland, B’ville had 45 points, taking fourth place as CNS (114 points) claimed the top spot.
Laura Farleman would win the high jump, clearing 5 feet 2 inches to edge CNS star Jasmine Thompson by an inch as Farleman’s teammate, Lindsay Beck, was sixth. Farleman also teamed with Jaimee Balloni, Nicole Fecco and Ashley Shaheen for third (10:40.94) in the 4×800.
