A luncheon is scheduled at the Butternut Community Policing Center for potential Volunteers from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28. The center is at 907 Butternut St. , Syracuse. Mayor Stephanie Miner and Syracuse Police
Chief Frank Fowler will attend the lunch to support the volunteer effort.
The Butternut Center needs volunteers to keep its doors open Monday - Friday during the day and early evenings. There will be many activities and although Officer Kenn Burdick will be there 8 hours/day, he needs assistance.
"If we want kids and adults to feel welcome to drop in, the Center should be open on a consistent schedule with sufficient staff," said Deborah Williams one of the organizing community members.
Volunteers are also needed for special projects and trips. Creative ideas are most welcome!
Come stop by and sign up to help make a difference in Syracuse.
