Baldwinsville Library activities for January

Baldwinsville Public Library has activities for people of all sizes and ages to fend off the winter blues. Speaking of winter blues, tax forms will be available at the end of January. Blues and many other colors are part of this month's exhibit of paintings and multimedia art by Aimee Gerde.

For the library's scheduled activities, visit the bville.lib.ny.us Web page under programs, stop by the library or clip this article.

For children

Winter-spring storytime registration is underway. Parents (or caregivers) may register young children for a program of stories, fingerplays, songs and crafts. Storytime sessions will begin Monday Jan. 25 and will run for 10 weeks ending April 5. Advance registration is required and sessions fill up quickly. There will be no phone registration on the first day; anyone who wants to register a child must come to the library. After the first day, phone registrations will be accepted at 635-5631.

Preschool dance party is planned for young children (2 to 5 years old) at 10:30 a.m. Friday Jan. 15. Parents and preschoolers are invited to get in the groove with dance music from disco to contemporary.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid party will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday Jan. 18 and will provide plenty of games, activities and snacks for second through fifth grade during their Martin Luther King Day off from school. Don't wimp out, join the fun. Register at the circulation desk or by calling 635-5631.

For adults

The Baldwinsville Public Library offers both familiar and new options for adults. Besides regular meetings for readers, writers, listeners and performers, the library will offer two new series: Wired Wednesdays, which will include some sessions for beginners and others for those who want to use technology more comfortably, and Jobseekers' Lifeline, providing job hunters of all ages and experience with tips and tools as well as encouragement.
