Scherz meets Governor Paterson

Fritz Scherz, from the Jagermeister-sponsored Fritz's Polka Band (FPB) from Verona met New York state Governor David Paterson Jan. 1 in Albany at the Governor's Mansion.

Fritz presented Governor Paterson with his band's latest CD, "Jagermeister presents Fritz's Polka Band -- Tribute."

"I was truly honored to meet Governor Paterson once again, and present him with the last CD that my dad made with my band," said Scherz, band leader of Fritz's Polka

Band. "Upon giving him the CD, I indicated that the CD was dedicated to all Veterans, and explained that one of the

songs, 'Tribute,' was the one we played at the Corporal John P. Sigsbee Post Office Dedication on Jan. 16, 2009.

He was very gracious and chatted a bit with my family. I'd like to publicly thank Jennifer Muthig for making

this possible!"

Fritz's Polka Band has been performing for over 31 years, and made history in 1999, when they became the first polka band to perform at a Woodstock Festival in Rome. On

Sept. 15, 2007, FPB made history again by becoming the first polka band to perform at the Metropolitan Club in New York City. FPB has now made 17 recordings. FPB even appears on "The Manchurian Candidate" DVD which was released in July 2004.
