Town of Salina extends tax office hours

The Town of Salina Tax Department will be open for your convenience for the collection of taxes on the following dates:

9 a.m. to noon -- Saturday Jan. 30

8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. -- Monday Feb. 1

The town's regular tax office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Sundays and holidays.

Please take notice that the office will be closed Monday Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

The due date to pay your taxes without penalty will be Feb. 1, 2010, conforming with the law. A partial payment, properties with no delinquent taxes, may be paid on or before this date and must be 50 percent of the bill with the remainder subject to any penalties due.

Senior citizens with the senior citizen exemption will have five business days after the due date extending the date to Feb. 8. If you have any questions, call 452-0840 to speak with Alicia J. MacCollum, receiver of taxes for the town of Salina.
