Tetley held his last board meeting Dec. 23, however, he said has no plans to exit the political arena. While he hasn't decided at what level he will continue his involvement in Manlius, he said at this point nothing has been ruled out.
Newly-elected supervisor Ed Theobald took his oath during a swearing in ceremony held Jan. 3. Tetley, who Theobald described as superb in aiding him during the transition, offered advice to his successor:
"Take advantage of and rely on the experience of your fellow board members and town manager, as well as the expertise of your department heads."
As for his supporters, Tetley said "thank you so much."
"Not only to those who supported me in the campaign," he added. "But also to the residents and fellow board members who made my term as supervisor not only personally rewarding, but together, we also helped make Manlius a better place to live, work and raise our families."
Town Councilor John Curtis, left, and Supervisor Mark Tetley at Tetley's last board meeting as supervisor held Dec. 23. Curtis read a proclamation and presented Tetley with an engraved plaque on behalf of the town board.
