Detectives arrest 3 In connection with string of storage facility burglaries.

Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh this afternoon reported that three suspects were arrested on December 29, 2009 in connection with a string of summertime burglaries at numerous storage facilities throughout Onondaga County, the City of Syracuse and Oswego County.

Sgt. Michael Norton, Supervisor of the Burglary Investigation Unit, stated that Frank Boyd, age 45, of 1101 Vine Street, Liverpool, NY; Jason Lawson, age 26, of 329 Apple Street, Syracuse NY, and Jennifer Losee, age 32, of 329 Apple Street, Syracuse, were arrested regarding a burglary that occurred between July 1, 2009 and July 2, 2009, at Uncle Bob's Self Storage, located at 7266 Henry Clay Blvd, Town of Clay.

Sgt. Norton advised that the arrests were a result of the combined efforts of several police agencies. The Cicero Police Department investigated the original incident in the string, at Pack Rat Storage, 8822 Brewerton Rd, at the end of June. Over the next month, similar break-ins occurred in the Towns of Clay, Cicero, Salina, and Lysander, the City of Syracuse, the Village of East Syracuse, and Oswego County. In all, 14 facilities were entered, and close to 100 individual storage units were burglarized.

At the end of July, East Syracuse Police were investigating two burglaries at Uncle Bob's Self Storage, 6523 Basile Rowe, and Faulkner's Trackside Self Storage, 339 W. Second Street when they contacted the Sheriff's Office to advise that they were similar to the storage facility burglaries being investigated by both Onondaga and Oswego County Sheriff's, and the Syracuse and Cicero Police. Sheriff's Evidence Technicians assisted East Syracuse Police with processing their burglary scene at Uncle Bob's. Sgt. Norton credit the work of the Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit and East Syracuse Police, with obtaining a DNA swab that eventually led to a suspect's name.

Boyd, Lawson and Losee were charged with Burglary 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Petit Larceny and Possession of Burglar Tools in the Town of Clay. Lawson is currently being held in the Justice Center on $ 25,000 Cash and $ 50,000 bond. Boyd and Losee were released to County Probation pre-trial.

Sgt. Norton advised that the suspects will be charged with additional burglaries related to incidents that occurred in Syracuse, Clay, Cicero, Fulton, Phoenix, Salina and Lysander.
