Nearly two weeks after a second-place finish at the Section III Class B championship meet, the Cazenovia girls indoor track team returned to Manley Field house and ended up in the same spot during Monday’s OHSL Liberty/Patriot division championship meet.
The Lakers picked up 81 points, again taking second place as Westhill won with 93 points. Skaneateles, the sectional Class B champions, was third with 73 points.
Paige Biviano won twice, starting in the 55-meter hurdles, where she finished in 9.76 seconds, the only Liberty/Patriot competitor to break the 10-second mark.
In the high jump, Biviano also finished in front, clearing 4 feet 8 inches, and she was third in the long jump (15 feet 6 3/4 inches) as Audrey Bowers (13 feet 10 1/4 inches) took sixth place. Molly Woodworth (25 feet 10 1/2 inches) and Christy Tainter (24 feet 10 1/4 inches) were third and fourth, respectively, in the shot put.
Bowers, Katie Woodworth, Jillian Vogl and Katie Kleine combined to finish second in the 4×200 relay in 1:53.37, not far from Skaneateles (1:52.16) in the top spot.
Cazenovia also was second in the 4×400 relay as Hollie Marcelle, Ashley Winn, Jackie O’Sullivan and Meghan Liddell finished in 4:25.93. Marcelle, O’Sullivan, Caroline Marshall and Margaret Wolsey were fourth in the 4×800 relay (11:05.51).
Vogl, on her own, claimed third place in the 300-meter dash in 44.21 seconds and fifth in the 55-meter dash in 7.88 seconds, with Ashley Winn finishing sixth in the 300 (45.99 seconds).
Margaret Wolsey had a fourth-place clocking of 3:30.20 in the 1,000-meter run. Liddell was fifth in the 1,500-meter run (5:30.76), while Marcelle got fifth in the 600-meter run (1:45.62) and Emma Wolsey was fifth (12:12.86) in the 3,000-meter run.
