Church studying "Hope"

The public is invited to a weekly study on "Hope: Your Heart's Deepest Longings." Sometimes hope becomes so real that it is almost tangible. But other times, especially when tragedy or hardship strikes, we wonder whether everything is hopeless. These studies explore both sides of hope, confronting doubts and fears while reminding believers of the great joy that is ours in Jesus Christ. The group meets at Hope Christian Fellowship, 119 South Peterboro Street in Canastota, on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

The series begins in February and continues throughout the upcoming Lenten season. Without lecturing or preaching, participants take turns leading the inductive Bible study and encouraging each other to discuss what they have learned about hope each week in studying a particular passage of Scripture. Bible study guides are available to assist, but they are not essential to answer observation, interpretation, and application questions.

The series is based on a LifeGuide(r) Bible Study entitled "Hope: Your Heart's Deepest Longings," written by Jack Kuhatschek and published by InterVarsity Press. Since each lesson is self-contained, it is not necessary to attend every week or to purchase a study guide, although they are available upon request.
