A one-car crash claimed the life of a Syracuse Man this morning in Lysander.
At 5:19 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to a single car crash along Church Road. Deputies investigating the crash report that the victim was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon and traveling west on Hencle Boulevard when he drove off the roadway just west of the intersection of Route 690 north. The victims car crashed through a fence before hitting a culvert and came to a rest in a snow bank approximately 100 feet from the intersection.
The victim's was transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies report that no one witnessed the crash and that a passing motorist spotted the victim's car off the roadway and immediately contacted the 911 Center.
Members of the Sheriff's Accident Investigation Team will conduct a complete investigation and will rely on an autopsy to help determine the cause of the accident.
The name of the victim will become available once family notifications are made.
