Town parks and recreation department announces winter activities

The Town of Salina Recreation Department announces its winter recess activities for the week of Feb. 15 to 19.

Movies will be offered at the Hollywood Theatre on Route 11 in Mattydale on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 a.m.

"Where the Wild Things Are," will show on Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday will feature, "Astro Boy."

Bowling will be offered at Strike N Spare Lanes on Brewerton Road in Mattydale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Special pricing (kids and adults) includes two hours of bowling, shoes, a hot dog and soft drink.

Lakeview Bowling Center, located on Old Liverpool Road, offers bowling from noon to 4 p.m. Special pricing includes two games of bowling, shoes, a slice of pizza and soda. This offer at Lakeview is being made when lanes are available.

Snow tubing will take place at the Four Seasons Ski Center on East Genesee St. in Fayetteville from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 17. Required registration for special pricing for this event must go through the Salina Parks office at 451-8110 by Feb. 16.

Salt City Karate and Kickboxing on Brewerton Road in Mattydale takes place Feb. 15 through 19. This event is free and offered to Salina residents, must call to make first appointment 451-4244. Space is limited.

Special pricing is also available at Iannuzzo's Black Belt Academy on Route 57, north of Route 31. The program includes two weeks and uniform during the winter break. Please call for an appointment at 622-1400.

The Salina Parks Department also wishes to announce to seniors, the Catholic Charities Nutrition lunches served on Wednesdays and Fridays at the Salina Town Hall.

Reservations are required. Call the parks office two days in advance; suggested contribution is $ 2.50.
