Village Trustee Sue Jones, who has taken the lead in researching a dog park in the village, said the Parks and Recreation Council of Skaneateles took a look at the letter drawn up by a group of residents hoping to have a dog park designation somewhere in the community.
While some were hopeful of having a park somewhere within Austin Park, Jones said PARCS' recommendation was that the park is not the best location. Instead it was recommended for the group to look at the Town of Skaneateles Conservation Area.
"My sense is that we put our trust in PARCS to make the best recommendation," Jones said.
The group will continue to research the possibility of a dog park in Skaneateles.
