You Can't Cap What You Can't Control'

To see a copy of our report, please go to nycom.org. After reading the report, I would appreciate it if each of you would call, write or e-mail your state elected officials, senator, assemblyman, and yes in two weeks, Governor Cuomo, and just tell them you support the "Mayoral Task Force on Mandate and Property Tax Relief."

The mayors in this state represent approximately 18 million people. There is strength in numbers. We need your support going forward to deal with these very tough issues and to make legitimate changes that will help relieve the burden on the taxpayer. As NYCOM President Teresi says, "A Crisis is a Terrible Thing to Waste." If we want more jobs, our children to stay in the state, our seniors to be able to retire here and our state to survive a financial crisis and once again become the "Empire State," we need to make dramatic changes.

The time is now, before it's too late.

Village of Minoa Mayor Dick Donovan is a NYCOM member and also president of the Onondaga County Mayors Association.
