WG students build 'em, bust 'em

West Genesee students worked together - in teams of two and three - to make their best bridges in the "Build 'em and Bust 'em" contest Nov. 20 at the Most. The event was sponsored by the Syracuse University L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science; representatives from the school provided students with contest guidelines and materials.

Bridges were designed to be strong and durable when subjected to a load.

West Genesee Middle School seventh grade students Annika Bergquist, Madeline Shuron and Izzy Zoanetti came in first place for Category II for grades seven through eight.

WG ninth grade students Corey Raaflaub, Matthew Romano and Zachary Ptak placed second in their division for grades nine through twelve.
