F'ville home to new banquet facility

The next time you're planning a party or arranging a business conference, consider COR Development's banquet facility at Fayetteville Towne Center.

The community room, which boasts an outdoor deck, hardwood floors, contemporary ceiling lamps, tables and chairs, can hold up to 150 people for special events including graduations, confirmations, birthday parties and rehearsal dinners. The facility is set up for business meetings, too, with capability of showing PowerPoint presentations.

A rental fee of $40 per hour (three-hour minimum) secures the venue cloaked in warm colors, located in the space previously occupied by Make and Take Gourmet behind The Shoppes at Towne Center.

"We always view Towne Center as a community center," said Steve Aiello, president of COR Development. "That's why we've integrated office, retail, the Y -- this is a trend of these new big community centers -- to provide a gathering place for patrons."

When the building became vacant, Aiello said the company wrestled with the idea of leasing out the space again. In the end, it chose to keep control and create its own niche.

Now, regular events such as wine tastings and special interest meetings are in the works, but manager Karen Steinmetz said she also wants to hear input from the public.

"The possibilities really are endless," she said, adding that schools, social organizations and other groups are welcome to contact her with ideas for sponsored events or fundraisers.

The facility's exclusive caterer is LaFayette-based Orchard Vali (orchardvali.com). Catering prices are separate from the room rental fee; however, catering is not required to reserve space.
