Military news: Syracuse-area soldiers re-enlist

Re-enlistments

The following Syracuse residents recently reenlisted with the armed forces:

Sergeant 1st Class Richard Richardson has reenlisted to continue service with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-108th Infantry.

Staff Sergeant James Hudson has reenlisted to continue service with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

Specialist Joriann Garciahernandez has reenlisted to continue service with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 427th Brigade Support Battalion.

Promotions

The following Syracuse residents and members of the New York Army National Guard were recently promoted:

Richard Richardson, serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-108th Infantry was promoted to the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.

James Cahill, serving with the Joint Force Headquarters, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Honor Guard selection

Sgt. 1st Class Wayne Stone, of Syracuse, was one of eight soldiers from New York's Military Forces Honor Guard selected to represent the northeastern United States during a nationwide National Guard competition for Honor Guards in September.
