Cold War vets

Public hearing on Cold War Vets getting tax relief did not gather any comment. The board at this regular meeting did not make a decision.

Approval of bills

Village trustee Hubbard questioned the $24,000 bill for storm water units on West Lake Street. It was noted there are two units that are already installed. The village board wants to look into the number before paying the bill to make sure the appropriate bidding process was followed.

Bath house in park?

The village received at letter from Wayne Clark in regard to no changing area for bathers in the swimming area of Clift Park. The trustees agreed they did not want another structure in the park. Trustee Hubbard said to notify the town as it operates the swimming area. Village Clerk Patty Couch noted there that are restrooms available under the gazebo, where someone could change.

Finger Lakes Paddleboard

Cody White, a representative from Finger Lakes Paddleboard (FLP) approached the board regarding a C Skaneateles Lake Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Sunday Aug. 29.

It s a six-mile paddle that starts at 9 a.m. to noon (at the latest). FLP is expecting up to 30 participants for this new sport. They have their own safety boat for emergencies and are insured. FLP came to the village board to okay usage of the Gazebo for announcing and to use the Clift Park boat launch for start and finish. The mayor said the village does not allow banners.

It s a small sport right now, White said. We are trying to get people interested.

The board also said they do not allow commercial activity in the park. White said FLP rents boards but they do it through a mobile service. Reservations: 237-7000 or fingerlakespaddleboard@gmail.com.

Police/Dispatch activity report

Chief Lloyd Perkins said that he and Sergeant Stevens took part in a disaster management drill at the School s District Office.
