Mayor Stephanie A. Miner will attend the Richard J. Daley Global Cities Forum in Chicago Sunday Apr. 25 through Tuesday Apr. 27. The theme of this year's forum is "New Partnerships for a New Economy: Driving Innovation in Cities."
Mayor Miner was invited to participate in the forum to discuss innovative approaches being taken to address Syracuse's challenges in education, infrastructure and public financing.
Specifically, Mayor Miner will be discussing Say Yes to Education, Syracuse's collaboration with Onondaga County on green infrastructure and developing local and federal connections through the Sustainable Communities Partnership with HUD, the DOT and the EPA.
The Richard J. Daley Global Cities Forum will assemble the leaders of more than 100 cities and local governments, along with prominent business, civic, academic and foundation leaders to discuss pivotal urban challenges.
Mayor Richard M. Daley invited Mayor Miner and a member of her staff to join him for the sixth annual forum when he met her at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in January. Expenses -- excluding travel -- will be paid for by The Richard J. Daley Global Cities Forum. Director of Planning and Sustainability Andrew Maxwell will be accompanying Mayor Miner.
