The Skaneateles Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. Friday April 23 to approve the district budget.
"We have to report numbers for the property tax report card on that date and wanted to wait as long as possible to see what happens with state aid and the sales tax issue," Superintendent Phil D'Angelo said.
The Onondaga County Legislature is currently in the process of reformatting how sales tax is distributed to municipalities, school districts and the city of Syracuse.
School district resident will have a chance to learn more about the 2010-11 budget during an information session at 7 p.m. Tuesday May 4. The Board of Education election and budget vote will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday May 18 at Waterman Elementary School.
In other school news:
~ The district is look to purchase two 72-passenger school buses at a cost of $209, 350. The purchase is to replace two older buses, D'Angelo said.
~ The superintendent's contract has been renewed. D'Angelo said his contract is for five years and has a clause where he can annually request a one-year extension to maintain it.
