B'ville: Animal farm trial at Baker HS

At Baker High School, English and global studies students recently put the animals from George Orwell's novel "Animal Farm" on trial in a joint project to analyze and interpret the book as well as to learn how the court system works. Amber Dufour (seated, left) acts as judge, Julia Atkins acts as a defense lawyer, and Alexandra Severson (seated, right) is a witness for the defense during the mock trial. After students learned that the novel is an allegory for the Russian Revolution and studied the Nuremburg trials, they applied their knowledge as they acted out the mock trial.
