Brais named LHS Senior of the Week

This week's Liverpool High School Senior of the Week is a National Honor Society member and a long distance runner for the Warriors team.

Anthony Brais, a member of the LHS cross country and outdoor track team is also a musician, as he plays the viola for Symphonic Orchestra.

During his high school career, Brais participated in Science Olympiad during 10th and 11th grade. His favorite subject at LHS is Latin.

Brais has won several academic awards and recognitions for his running.

In the summer time, Brais volunteers in outdoor activities such as the Beaver Lake Canoe Dock, at which he worked last summer.

His outdoor activities extend to his hobbies, which include hiking, running and camping.

Brais said his father, Anthony Brais, Sr., has been the greatest influence in his life.

"He has shown me the rewards of hard work," Brais said of his father.

After graduation, Brais said he plans to major in civil or environmental engineering at the University at Buffalo.

However, Brais and his family will be making plans to travel together before he begins his college career.
