Approving the 2010-11 school budget unanimously 8 - 0, the North Syracuse Central School District has adopted a 2.67 percent tax increase.
The total budget adopted is $135,467,060. There will be a $56 increase on resident property taxes for homes assessed at $100,000.
Since the beginning of the budget process, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jerome Melvin said he knew "this was a tough year, but next year could be worse."
The Board of Education reviewed the budget modifications made at the special meeting held April 12 and during the public hearing held last week.
All members of the board were present, except for Linda Banach, who was excused.
The public will vote on the budget May 18.
