Remains found to be male

Human remains discovered on April 6 in the City of Oneida have been identified as male by Onondaga County medical examiners.

In a statement released on April 12, Oneida Police Chief David Meeker says that the remains are that of a white male, age 26-50.

The bones were found in a shallow grave by a woman fishing last Tuesday in an area just north of Canal Road.

Further examination is being conducted while investigators review missing persons cases in the area.
