Lysander takes meetings on the road

First 'Meeting on the Move' hosted by Plainville FD

Staff reports

On March 22, the Lysander Town Board voted to hold some of this year's meetings away from town hall in various communities within the town. The first such meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday April 26 at the Plainville Fire Department Station 2, 6808 Plainville Road in Memphis.

"Taking meetings to different locations within the town may encourage residents to attend town board meetings who may not be able to do so otherwise," said Town Clerk Lisa Dell.

Councilman Art Levy, who authored the resolution, said, "If the town board sees a significant increase in attendance, we will likely hold meetings throughout the town in 2011 and beyond. I thank the Plainville Fire Department for stepping up and offering their fire station for our April 26 meeting. As always, all residents are welcome to attend."

Future meeting to be held in different locations will be announced when scheduled.
