Body identified as 41-year-old Auburn woman

The body of a woman found in Skaneateles Lake has been identified as Wendy Sherman, 41, of Auburn.

Sherman's body was recovered from a vehicle in the lake by the Skaneateles Fire Department Dive Team. According to the New York State Police, the vehicle was discovered submerged in approximately 12 feet of water near the Skaneateles Boat Launch in Mandana Saturday afternoon.

A man working at the boat launch found the vehicle.

The vehicle was winched out of the water by the fire department. The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate the incident.
