Summer park program comes with a fee

The Oneida Common Council voted Tuesday night in favor of a fee now being charged to families who want to enroll their children in the summer parks program at Vet's Field.

The program is sponsored by the Oneida Recreation Department, and has been a long-standing summer program crucial to the community.

The council rejected a $150 fee per resident, and $250 per non-resident for the seven week program. They did however accept a proposal which grants discounts to families who enroll multiple children.

Residents of Oneida will now be paying $175 for one child, $125 for a second child and $75 for each additional child. Non-residents will be charged $250 for one child, $200 for a second and $150 for each additional child enrolled.
