Nicole Damon, a member of the Durgee Junior High School Leadership Team (DLT), talks to fifth-graders at Palmer Elementary about which items can be recycled and which ones students should put in the trash. With her are some of her teammates (from left) Dan Chapman, Kimberly Cushman, Casey Alencewicz and Emily Kott. The DLT recently visited the elementary school to present their environmental education program to all of the school's fifth-graders. They gave the younger students tips on how to be energy efficient and better recyclers. At the end of the presentation, fifth-graders signed a recycling pledge.
