Syracuse Walk for a Nuclear-Free Future

Purpose: To call attention to the 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference at UN in May 2010. With increased demonstrated public support for the abolition of all nuclear weapons, we want President

Obama to lead the world forward towards their abolition.

The Peace Walkers will begin their journey in Buffalo, NY on March 6 to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference at the United Nations where they will converge with Peace Walkers from other sections of the United States on May 1, 2010. The Peace Walkers will participate in the Rally, March and Peace Festival in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in NYC on May 2 for a Nuclear-Free World.

On Tuesday, April 6, the Peace Walkers will be in Syracuse. Peace Action of Central New York invites you to join in welcoming them to our community by participating in a Potluck Dinner and Interfaith Gathering for a Nuclear-Free Future at St. Lucy Church. The Potluck dinner will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a Interfaith Gathering for a Nuclear-Free Future.

Jun Yasuda and the peace walkers will share reflections on their journey and the program will conclude with a prayer for peace led by Royko, Sherry Chayat of the Zen Center. Dessert, coffee and tea will also be provided by

the Zen Center.
