Central New York residents are invited to celebrate the season with the Rosamond Gifford Zoo and Burnet Park on
Saturday, April 3.
The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is hosting the second annual Animal Egg-Stravaganza. More than a dozen species of animals will receive eggs, egg-shaped items and other Easter themed treats. Presenting the animals with unusual items is part of the zoo's enrichment program.
Enrichment activities stimulate the animals' thinking and ability to"hunt" for food as they would in the wild.
Neighboring Burnet Park, operated by Syracuse City Parks and Recreation, is hosting an Easter egg hunt for children ages 2 to 10 on the same day.
The hunt offers staggered start times for different age categories ensuring that even the littlest hunters will find some eggs. After thehunt, participants will redeem their eggs for candy and other prizes.
One lucky winner will receive a new bicycle. The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call 473-4330.
