Pedestrian Struck by Ambulance After Stepping Into Roadway

About 11:55 PM last night, Syracuse Police responded to the intersection of Comstock Ave. at University Place to investigate a car/pedestrian accident.

The investigation revealed a Rural Metro ambulance was driving northbound on Comstock Ave. when an intoxicated pedestrian stepped off the curb and into the passenger side mirror of the passing ambulance.

The pedestrian was identified as 21 year old Casey Cornelia-Galletto of Rochester. He was treated on the scene for a head laceration, and then transported to University Hospital for evaluation. No tickets were issued.
