Van Buren Man charged with stabbing

Onondaga County Sheriff's Detectives have charged a Van Buren man in connection with a domestic related stabbing that occurred this past weekend.

Cleveland C. Sessons, 41, of 1 Cedarwood Boulevard, building F, apartment 102, was charged Monday night with assault in the second degree and possession of a weapon in the third degree in connection with a domestic related stabbing involving his ex-girlfriend.

Sessons is accused of stabbing Rachell Evans, 23, of 108 Second St., Ithaca, several times in the abdomen. Evans was transported to University Hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Sessons, who was apprehended and hospitalized after the incident, was arraigned in the town of Lysander Court Monday night where bail was set in the amount of $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond. Sessons is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
