Cars, pedestirans, bicyclists, city buses, joggers and more all share James Street, and the Syracus Metropolitan Transportation Council wants your ideas for how to make the stretch from Oswego Boulevard downtown to Shotwell Park in Eastwood more user friendly — for all users. The SMTC will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 7 to discuss the Road Diet study of James Street. The meeting will be held at Lincoln Middle School, 1613 James St. The meeting is the initial public outreach for the study, an effort of the SMTC on behalf of the city of Syracuse. The meeting will include a presentation of project goals and objectives, a review of the current conditions and the options for improving the roadway. A brainstorming work session will follow the presentation. For more information about the project or the public meeting, call 422-5716.
