Both of Baldwinsville’s track and field teams would close out regular-season work in the CNY Counties League National division with a one-sided sweep of Henninger last Wednesday at Sunnycrest Field. In the boys Bees’ 118-23 victory over the Black Knights, Brian Kane prevailed in the high jump (5 feet 8 inches) and triple jump, where he went 40 feet 1 inch. Raeshaun Jones tossed the shot put 44 feet 2 inches and won the discus with a throw of 112 feet 8 inches. Andrew Hoover took first in the 110-meter high hurdles (16.1 seconds) and joined Brian Wisely, Chris Wicks and Jeff Pond as the Bees took the 4×400 relay in 3:42 flat. Wisely, on his own, won the 400-meter dash in 54.9 seconds as Jon Hingre took the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.3) and Ethan Pacheck ran 800 meters in 2:08.7. Wisely, Alec Peinkofer, Charles Parker and Josh Perez took the 4×800 in 9:29.1. The B’ville girls team beat Henninger 120-21 as Gabrielle Jordan took the 100 (12.9 seconds) and 200 (27.0 seconds) sprints. Jordan, Andrea Vroman, Gina Carnovale and Paige Corso claimed the 4×100 in 52.1 seconds. Julia Johnson was first in the 800 (2:40.9), while Anne Peterson took the 1,500-meter run (5:22.7) and Mallory Warner ran 3,000 meters in 11:46.4. Johnson helped the Bees’ 4×800 relay team win in 11:42.3 as Jaimee Balloni won the 400 meter-dash (1:03.2) and Lydia Darling took the 400 hurdles in 1:14.1. Erica Miller won both the shot put (31 feet 5 inches) and discus (92 feet 1/2 inch), while Laura Farleman cleared 4 feet 10 inches in the high jump and Andrea Pateras cleared 8 feet in the pole vault. B’ville completed a relay sweep as it took the 4×400 in 4:22.1. The Bees were not done, either, as on Friday both teams would win events in separate meets.
At the boys Clinton Junkyard Relays, B’ville finished second, with 98 points, as host Clinton took the top spot with 107 points. Perez, Shaun Thompson, Ethan Pacheck and Adam Pacheck combined to take the 4×1,600 relay in 18:47.15. In the distance medley, both Pachecks, plus Thompson and Wicks, dominated the field, winning in 10:51.81, the only sub-11-minute clocking. Hoover, Hingre and Kyle Beckhusen won the three-man 400 hurdles with combined times of 3:05.83. Kane, who tied Oneida’s Mike Rabbitt in the high jump (6 feet 2 inches), helped David Bullis and Jake Zuke finish third. In the 25-pound weight throw, Jones beat the field with 44 feet 11 1/4 inches, finishing second in a three-man effort with Patrick Miller and Mark Stanard. Jones won the javelin with a throw of 128 feet 2 inches, as he, Kane and Stanard finished third in the event. Also, Jones was second among individuals in the discus (130 feet 9 inches), teaming with Stanard and Pat McNamara for another third-place effort. Peinkofer, Wisely, Wicks and Ethan Pacheck were second in the 4×800 (8:32.22). The Bees also were third in the 4×100 (45.44 seconds) and fourth in the 4×200 (1:40.50) and 1,000 sprint medley (2:09.18), and sixth in both the 1,600 sprint medley and 4×400. Perez, James Fleming and Tom Ancilloti were third in the light-weight shot put. Meanwhile, the B’ville girls team cleaned up at the Tully Friday Night Invitational. In the 4×800, Balloni, Peterson, Farleman and Ashley Shaheen won in 9:57.94, the only time under 10 minutes, while Miller swept to wins in the shot put (31 feet 6 inches) and discus (92 feet 3 inches). Carnovale, Vroman, Kaitlin Hogan and Devin Young were second in the 4×100 in 52.82 seconds, with Balloni, Quaneisha Ivey, Gabrielle Jordan and Mackenzie Ross second (4:14.41) in the 4×400. Alyssa Hingre was fifth in the 400 and Pateras took sixth in the pole vault.
