Jordan-Elbridge’s track and field teams went to Saturday’s Weedsport Invitational and, despite a schedule curtailed by all the high winds, had a fair share of success. On the girls end, the Eagles nearly won, with 75 points, a number only topped by Pulaski’s total of 80 points, aided in no small part by Blue Devils star Katie Weisenberger sweeping to three victories in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000-meter runs. Rachel Scott and Lisa Kimak went 1-2 in the 400 hurdles, as Scott won in 1:12.46 and Kimak gained second place in 1:13.99. Also, Scott took second in the 400-meter dash (1:04.39), with Kim Foltz fourth in 1:05.42 as she also got fourth in the 800-meter run. Rachel Betts ran to third in the 200-meter dash (29.18 seconds) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.61 seconds), with Williams fifth in the 200 and sixth in the 100. Kimak was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and Phebe Alley earned sixth in the 1,500. In field events, Mackenzie Sawyer was third in the triple jump (29 feet 7 inches) as Courtney Hourigan took fourth place in the long jump, going 13 feet 5 1/4 inches. Molly Hourigan was fourth in the high jump, clearing 4 feet 10 inches. J-E’s boys team finished third with 58.5 points, behind only Weedsport and Marcellus. Andrew Conlan, won the 100-meter dash over Auburn’s Peter Sigona, 11.77 seconds to 11.82, and was second in the 200, edged out by Phoenix’s Sean McMonagle, 24.46 seconds to McMongale’s 24.44. Cody Stanton ran to first place in the 3,200-meter run in 10:15.73, with teammate Jack Gugel (10:53.03) in third place. Carlin Coomey took second in the 400-meter dash (53.17 seconds), with Greg Bader third in the 800 (2:07.79) and Mike Marrero taking third in the mile in 4:46.19.
