Jamesville-DeWitt’s track and field teams went to Friday’s Oneida Invitational and finished second among girls teams, with 77 points, as Fayetteville-Manlius won with 104 points. In the 4×100 relay, Marae Tearney, Natalie Mannion, Amanda Tan and Linsay Royer finished in 51.93 seconds, beating South Lewis (52.26) and the rest of the field. Royer, Mannion, Katy Pieri and Liz Pieri took second (4:08.82) behind F-M (4:05.72) in the 4×400, with the Rams also fifth in the 4×800. On her own, Mannion had a top long jump of 15 feet 7 1/4 inches, beating Sarah Wiatr (West Canada) by less than an inch a she also took second (33 feet 8 inches) in the triple jump. Tearney was second in the 100 in 13.10 seconds, just behind Utica-Notre Dame’s Gennie DePass (13.06), and added a third (33 feet 4 inches) in the shot put. Margaret Fuller cleared 4 feet 10 inches for third place in the high jump, while Danielle Doss got fifth in the pole vault. Sierra Vasiliou nearly won the pentathlon, earning 2,248 points, just seven less than Vernon Verona Sherrill’s Rachel Brown. Eileen Cody was fourth in the 3,000 (10:40.35), with Katy Pieri fourth in the 400 (1:02.06), Paige Morrow sixth in the 1,500-meter run and Courtney Ellis sixth in the 400 hurdles. For the J-D boys team, who was fourth out of 21 entrants with 44 points, Bumkoth Jiak had to settle for second place in the mile in 4:24.62, just behind Marcellus’s Jesse Garn (4:23.24)( Brent Fallon was third in the shot put (42 feet 4 3/4 inches) as David Salbert got fourth in the 400-meter dash (50.72 seconds). Salbert, Will Sterriker, Eric Semmel and Michael Meyer were second in the 4×100 in 45.15 seconds, edged out by Holland Patent (45.08), with J-D also fourth in the 4×800 in 8:43.52. Taumeras Howard earned fifth place in the 100-meter dash (11.86 seconds).
