Both of Jordan-Elbridge’s lacrosse teams kept itself busy as April turned into May, mostly finding success. J-E’s boys team led most of the way in last Tuesday night’s game at Tully, only to lose to the Black Knights by a score of 13-12. In a tight first half, the Eagles kept itself in front, and by the time the third quarter was done, J-E had an 11-9 advantage, due to a three-pronged attack. Gale Thorpe had four goals and two assists, while Dylan Johnson also found the net four times and Cody Lewis got three goals and three assists. But Tully had the last surge, holding J-E to a single goal in the last 12 minutes and tying it, 12-12, before Tyler Halpin beat Connor Smart for the game-winner with 30 seconds to play. Kevin DeOrdio led the Black Knights with five goals and two assists. Jeff Guadagnolo had J-E’s other goal, with Aurie Schwarting picking up two assists. Smart had an assist to go with his 12 saves as Zach Stevenson and Derrick Cheney also earned assists. The Eagles revived in a big way on Thursday, blasting Bishop Ludden 16-2. Like other teams, J-E overwhelmed the Gaelic Knights, sprinting to an 11-1 halftime lead and getting everyone on its roster some playing time. Thorpe, with four goals and two assists, led the charge as Lewis, Schwarting and Guadagnolo each posted three-goal hat tricks. Stevenson, Anthony Gabriel and Morgan Town also scored, with Lewis getting two assisets. Johnson and Tom Delap got single assists. J-E’s girls team hosted Onondaga last Tuesday afternoon and had one of its best offensive efforts of the season, beating the Tigers 17-7. Though it took a while to warm up in the chilly conditions, the Eagles gained a 7-2 edge by halftime, then doubled its margin after the break, with Emily Dillon at the forefront. Dillon nearly matched OCS by herself with six goals, adding two assists. In support, Carrie-Jo Farrugia, Kelsey Youmell, Amanda Brown and Chelsea Maitland each had two goals, with Youmell adding a pair of assists. Amanda Wheeler and Ella Thorpe each got one goal and one assist as Emily Bates also scored. Kelsey Armani contributed an assist.
