Completing a perfect run through nine CNY Counties League opponents, the Baldwinsville wrestling team won all but two matches Wednesday night against Oswego and put together a 59-9 victory over the Buccaneers. Ironically, one of the closest matches involved the Bees’ most decorated wrestler, Anthony Finocchiaro, who went out at 130 pounds and pulled out a 4-1 decision over Kyle Rossi. Elsewhere, Tim Sposato had the fastest pin for B’ville at 103 pounds, taking 1:26 to pin Matt DiFabio. Nick Jacobs (135 pounds) earned a pin over Austin Gilbert in 2:49 as John Herholzer (125 pounds) took two more seconds to finish off Anthony Todaro. Antonio Peck went out at 140 pounds and nearly got a technical fall in a 16-2 win over Adam Doviak, while Joe Senf (152 pounds) rolled past Dan Ellingwood 12-1. Five other times, the Bees earned forfeits as Joey Shaheen (112 pounds), Jacob Norton (119 pounds), Kurt McArdell (145 pounds), Patrick Nasoni (171 pounds) and Tyler Mackey (215 pounds) didn’t have to wrestle. All the Bees will be active, though, when it goes to Cicero-North Syracuse next Saturday to compete in the Section III Class AA championship meet as one of the odds-on favorites.
