As the familiar, frigid Upstate New York weather returns, runners from across the country and around Cazenovia are gearing up for the annual Chilly Chili 5k Run/Walk. The race, to be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7, benefits the Cazenovia Children’s House. Last year’s race had more than 1,100 registrants. The annual race begins and finishes in front of Cazenovia Middle School, at 31 Emory Avenue, Cazenovia. Those interested in registering may register online, by mail or in person on race day. To register online or by mail, visit chillychili.com/registration.php. An early packet pickup will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 6 at Fleet Feet’s, 5800 Bridge St., Syracuse. Runners may also pre-register at the Early Packet Pickup. An after party will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Cazenovia College Athletic Center on Liberty Street, in Cazenovia. The party includes a Chili Cook Off featuring area restaurants. The race has gained national recognition from running resources such as active.com, Cool Running, Runner’s World.
