Dunkin Donuts and the Madison-Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross is honoring Oneida resident, Holly Panebianco with the September Red Cross Volunteer of the Month Award.
Holly originally came in contact with the Chapter when she was at Head Start taking a Health and Safety class and both organizations were housed in the old Oneida Healthcare ECF building. She began volunteering as a CPR instructor eight years ago for the Madison-Oneida Chapter. Since that time she has also been certified as a Red Cross instructor in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Babysitter Training.
As a parent, Holly understands the importance of babysitting safety skills. In 2005, she stepped up to help the Chapter and her community by teaching 11 to 15 year olds Babysitter Training. The classes are held in the Chapter's classroom, 100 Washington Ave., Oneida, approximately every other month, usually on a Saturday or coinciding with school holidays.
Holly's Babysitter Training classes are very popular and the limited spaces fill up fast. When scheduled, Babysitter Training along with CPR and First Aid classes are listed on the organization's website at madisononeida.org. To get additional information on any of its programs call the Madison-Oneida Red Cross at 363-2900.
