WG announces AP scholars, award winners

Eighty-eight students and recent graduates of West Genesee High School have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by The College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations.

Several levels of achievement are recognized based on the number of year-long courses and examinations (or their equivalent semester-long courses and examinations).

Graduates Michael Brogan and David Goetke qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of 4 or higher on a 5-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Senior Julia Calagiovanni along with graduates Michael Brogan, Peter Brogan, Amanda Brown, Anna Brunner, Meghan Burns, Molly Byrne, Danietta Charles, Ian Dardani, Matthew Davis, Marta Dzyadyk, Daniel Galloway, Nicholas Gettino, David Goetke, Trevor Grant, Shane Haley, Timothy Henderson, Kathyrn Hess, Molly Hollenbeck, Robert Kotheimer, Jared Lomolino, Michelle McGuire, Alissa Orlando, Dylan Price, Christopher Rogers, Jennifer Thomas, Jay Tinklepaugh, and Kristin Waters qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these examinations.

Seventeen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honors Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Examinations taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these examinations. They are seniors Nicholas Dellefave, Jason Ferguson, Jessica Ingram, Tyler Mattis, Elizabeth Powell, Matthew Usher, and Heitham Wady; and graduates Sean Al-Gattas, Emily Ball, Kyle Crompton, Kory Farrell, Olivia Harris, Brittany Laxton, Nicholas LoRusso, Kevin Petrick, Melissa Singer, and Taryn White.

Fourty-three students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Examinations. They are: Alexander Arbital, Alma Begic, Ryan Devlin, Ryan Franklin, Daniel Gilheney, Bridget Greene, Kyle Ivers, Taleah Jernigan, Jamie Kurtz, Lisa Lopez, Olga Olesh, Victoria Steiner, and Emily Wagner; and graduates Katelynn Aubrey, Emily Brien, Genevieve Brigida, Megan Carpenter, Pio Carranti, Alissa Creno, Nicole Cunningham, Kimberly Dalterio, Alayna Demarchi, Jana Dimitrievska, Michael Gagnon, Patrick Hart, Rachel Hefti, Erica LaComb, Michael Ladouceur, Julia Morrow, Jennifer Munger, Nicholas Olszewski, Kathleen O'Meara, Erika Pisik, Stephanie Radford, Jonathan Richardson, Paula Riker, Andrew Salvetti, Michael Shepherd, Tierney Smith, Ronald Ta, Kelly Taylor, Connor Vanderpool, and Lauren Vernon.
