Dolce Vita, the newest restaurant on the Cultural Corridor hosts the Media Unit's Last Wednesdays series, opening Wednesday, September 30, at 9 p.m. at the world bistro, 907 East Genesee Street off the Syracuse University campus. The opening production, Recover Me, is an original musical theater approach to exploring the issue of recovery from addictions among teens.
"This issue-oriented play is one of the reasons this group reaches out to so many teens here in the community and throughout their travels," according to critic Charles Jackson, writing in City Eagle.
"The show has perfect timing, while national and global attention is being given to drug addiction in light of Michael Jackson's sudden death."
The teen troupe will continue the series on October 28, with the national award-winning From the Back of the Bus, about racism and racial healing, and on November 25 with Not Your Typical Case, about the girl who couldn't get AIDS. Scenes from Recover Me will be broadcast at 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, when Rough Times Live opens its 31st season on Time Warner Cable Channel 98.
