You Chenango Water Exercise Group (CWEG) members who missed the annual picnic this past week missed a great event. From the site to the weather we had a delightful day.
Many thanks to Carolyn Hartshorn and her family for once again providing the perfect setting for the picnic. The Lebanon Reservoir Campground takes good care of us with a resident cook (Frieda) making sure the hot dogs are done to perfection, a large room with tables and chairs for our comfort, and a fantastic layout for all the goodies our people bring. They even have someone directing traffic so we are all conveniently parked.
With salads and desserts dominating the potluck portion of the fare everyone could find things they liked or wanted to sample as sides for the main course of Hoffmann's hotdogs. A number of CWEG alums (emeritus) were there to renew old acquaintances and join in the fun. Many of the dishes should have had recipe cards attached as they were big hits with the group.
Our social chairwoman Teresa Lemery, aided by her first assistant Rose Jones, had set-up all the proper paper products so people could eat their fill. But many helped in the set up and clean-up making the job much easier for all. After all the food was cleared away we had a raucous session of Bingo!
Prizes that were donated by board members were up for grabs to the game winners and friendly banter was heard as people tried to fill their cards. We all went away sated from a great meal as well as the warmth of a friendly atmosphere that CWEG events always seem to provide. Those who missed it mark your calendars and try to get there next year. It is worth the trip and a great chance to meet your fellow CWEG's in a dry setting!
