Westcott Neighborhood Bulb Project is Oct. 3

Saturday, Oct. 3 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the 7th annual Westcott Neighborhood Bulb Give- a-Way/Garden Extravaganza will be held at the Westcott Community Center, (co-partner of the project) corner of Euclid and Westcott St.

This year a free showing open to all of HOMEGROWN co-sponsored by The Alchemical Nursery project.

HOMEGROWN (50 minutes) follows the Dervaes family who run a small organic farm in the heart of urban Pasadena, Ca. a few blocks from the Super Bowl. While "living off the

grid", they harvest over 6,000 pounds of produce on less than a quarter of an acre, make their own bio diesel, power their computers with the help of solar panels, and maintain a Web site that gets 4,000 hits a day. The film is an intimate human portrait of what it's like to live like "Little House on the Prairie" in the 21st Century.

Any resident from the Westcott neighborhood can pick up a free packet of 18 mixed daffodil bulbs as long as you are willing to plant them where they can be seen from the

street for all to enjoy. Compost donated by Toad Hollow Farms, toadhollowfarms.com (bring your own container) and planting instructions will be available. Come
