On Tuesday Sept. 1 Jagermeister-sponsored Fritz's Polka Band of Verona performed three different shows at the New York State Fair in Syracuse that drew three standing room-only crowds. FPB played in the International Building.
"This year was the first time my Dad [Fred Scherz, Sr.] wasn't able to play at the New York State Fair with us, because he's bravely battling cancer and we sure missed him," said Fritz Scherz, band leader of Fritz's Polka Band.
"We had three big crowds for each show and the guys in my band had an awesome time," Scherz said.
The audience was very enthusiastic all day, according to the band. The audience did a great sing along during "Beer Barrel Polka," said Scherz. The members of FPB want to thank Sharron Pearson for booking FPB, as well as the following people who helped with logistics: Joann, building manager, and Rob, sound guy preparations.
"Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank all of the people that attended our performances and helped make it so memorable," Scherz said.
