New tennis courts going in at Austin Park

The Skaneateles Park and Recreation Department has announced the construction of two additional tennis courts to be located on the west side of the existing courts in Austin Park.

Construction began Thursday Sept. 10. The courts will be closed between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday now through the end of the season. The courts will be open for the varsity tennis team to practice and play after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.

The walking track will have a grass detour and appropriate and careful footing will be required. For those who keep track of their distance, the detour will make the distance shorter.

The department apologizes for any inconvenience the construction may cause this season. However, they are looking forward to next season being busy and exciting.
